Anu Varsheny retires as Chairman

A letter of thanks from the outgoing Chair

Dear Colleagues,

My term as Chairman of Driving Mobility has come to an end and it is time to pass the baton on to my successor, Colin Barnett.

On a personal note, I would like to express my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all for giving me the opportunity to lead our organisation.  It has been an absolute pleasure and indeed, an honour to work with you all and representing Driving Mobility. We have strived to make a difference in so many people’s lives so as to ensure they are fit to drive and lead an independent life in their own communities safely.

I would like to thank board members, past and present for the huge achievements we have made and the successes we have gained.  The list is exhaustive but these being:

  • Rebranding of the Organisation
  • Service Expansion Plan
  • Improved working relationships with key stakeholders,
  • Research & Development,
  • Education Planning

I am also grateful for the support we have received from the Department for Transport and, in particular, the support given to us during the recession and on-going austerity.

There are still many challenges ahead but as a charitable organisation with an excellent team in place, and with the right framework for governance, I am confident that under Colin’s leadership as Chairman and Edward as CEO, you will continue to do a fantastic job.

I wish my successor, Colin Barnett the very best in his new role in leading Driving Mobility into the future.

Yours sincerely,

Anuraj Varshney

Chairman

Driving Mobility
