Sandra has led the Driving Assessment service at North East Drive Mobility, Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust since 2002.
Her career developed within the NHS, working in different roles, including Primary and Community Health Care, and Neuro-rehabilitation. Sandra remains committed to her beliefs that that driving and outdoor mobility are fundamental to health and wellbeing. She views one of her main achievements as influencing the design and build requirements for North East Drive Mobility based on national standards required for an Accredited Mobility Centre. This resulted in the integration of driver assessment within the specialist neuro-rehabilitation service at Walkergate Park. Sandra has served previous terms of office on the Driving Mobility Board and is currently the Chair of the CIECA / Driving Mobility Fit to Drive Topical Sub Group, developing international standards for driver assessment.
