Rachel Odell has been appointed as Centre Manager at Wessex Driveability in Southampton. Having completed a degree in Rural Resource Management at Reading University, Rachel initially worked as a Development Assistant at West Devon Borough Council before moving to Southampton’s Itchen Valley Country Park, where she has been employed as the Visitor Services Manager since 1996, managing the busy visitor centre, along with the Park’s facilities, staff and budgets.
Although she enjoyed her time there, Rachel decided that it was time for a change, and with a strong desire to continue in a customer-focussed vocation, applied for the Centre Manager job at Wessex Driveability and was delighted to be offered the role. She said, “I’m very lucky. The previous Managers, Jane Weir and Gareth Stevens have done a fantastic job and are handing the business over in an excellent position. I have the advantage that both are staying on in the Centre in Senior Assessor roles.”
