Launch of a Powered Wheelchair and Mobility Scooter (PWMS) retailer training scheme
Driving Mobility is delighted to announce that they will be formally launching a new PWMS Retailers’ Training Scheme, supported by the Department of Transport (DfT), at an event being held at an event in London in June 2023.
It is with great sadness that we have to report that Wessex DriveAbility, with its main centre in Southampton and outreach centres at Salisbury, Basingstoke and Ferndown, will cease operations on 31st March 2023. This closure is primarily due to the prevailing economic conditions.

Disabled Motoring UK launches survey into electric vehicle readiness amongst disabled drivers
Earlier in the year DMUK was granted a small amount of lottery funding to carry out a research project looking into disabled people’s preparedness to switch to electric vehicles (EVs). They are seeking the views of disabled motorists regarding their knowledge of EVs and EV charging infrastructure.

Derby DrivAbility to host Open Day showcasing adaptations and equipment for disabled drivers and passengers
Derby DrivAbility will be hosting a free mobility event for healthcare professionals, Approved Driving Instructors and the general public on 14th June 2022. They will be offering the opportunity for visitors to explore specialist equipment for driving, wheelchair loading and passenger safety.
